They often force themselves to wake up in the morning, dress up, drive straight to their workplace, drive back home about 8 hours later, watch TV, and then sleep, only to repeat the same routine the next day for almost their whole lives. We think about this kind of living as a normal and even healthy one, but if you stop for a while and think about it, it is not healthy at all.

Life is something precious and beautiful, and instead of making the most out of it, we choose to waste it only because we were programmed to do so. Habits, tradition, as well as belief systems, have turned people into mindless automatons that do not enjoy their lives and only follow a predetermined path which was handed to them by society.

However, this programming can be broken if we see that the way we live actually prevents us from squeezing the juice out of our life, as well as gather the courage in order to change how we think and act. If we really want to start clearing a positive change in the world, we have to stop giving power to a few other people and hold them responsible for our lives, and instead begin taking responsibility in our own hands so that we can become the creators of our destiny.

3. Question the current economic system.

Money is created out of debt, thus creating the illusion of scarcity of resources, which compels people to compete in the market, that have to waste most of their life working as wage slaves. This results in tremendous suffering, as well as a social conflict which prevails all over the world.

Additionally, our economic system requires people to consume without end, so that money can keep on circulating in the economy, thus urging people to buy things which they do not need and which will end up in landfills, poisoning the environment which we depend on and sustains us.

If you are not a fan of this kind of living and would like to create some positive changes in your life and the world too, we would recommend you to research further into the huge negative consequences of the economy, and educate yourself on the alternative, more technically efficient and environmentally sustainable economic systems.

4. Detach yourself from materialism.

Growing up in a consumer culture, we think that money can buy everything that we need and is going to bring happiness into our lives too. So, because of that, we choose to buy more and more things without end, but we always end up feeling dissatisfied and hungry for more stuff.

The truth actually is that money can only provide us with substitutes for what we really need, but not the real deal. What we actually need is neither possessions nor services but things like love, friendship, as well as creativity.

So, you should not be concerned about which is the next best thing that you can buy, and instead invest your time and efforts in achieving heart-opening, as well as mind-expanding experiences which money cannot buy for sure.

5. You should be mindful of you consume in the body.

Some important questions which all people should ask themselves are: Is what I eat contributing to my health or is it poisoning my physical organism? Is what I eat environmentally sustainable, or is it negatively impacting the natural world?

A lot of people choose to eat some foods which are filled with sugar, preservatives, and which are empty of nutrients or contains some animal-derived products, unaware that their food choices are detrimental to their health, contribute to the suffering, as well as the death of tens of billions of animals, and have a tremendously negative effect on the environment.

Books can be very helpful in opening our eyes and improving our quality of life, but not a lot of people spend much of their time reading books. To get the most out of reading books, you should remember not to just pick any book and read, but read those that will touch your mind and heart, as well as those which will provide you with new perspectives which help you to better understand yourself and the world around you.

8. Escape the herd mentality.

Just as everyone else, you are a unique individual with unique talents and gifts to offer to the world. Unluckily, society suppressed our individuality since the day we were born. We have been programmed to doubt ourselves, as well as conform to what is considered as normal.

Being creative means to think outside of the box, as well as see life from different perspectives. What is most important, being creative means to find out some new ways of living and realize that you have the power to manifest the kind of life you want to live.

10. And finally, you should develop mindfulness.

Learning how to live in the present moment is one of the most important ways to break free from your conditioning. With being mindful of the here and now, you will have the ability to respond to everything that happens every moment, without being a victim of your past.

There are a lot of meditation techniques which can help you to develop mindfulness, so you should find the ones which you like the most and stick to them until you see some positive results in your life.
