" It's more than just a dress; it's a spirit. The wrap dress was an interesting cultural phenomenon... What is so interesting about it is that it's actually a very traditional form of clothing...- like a kimono..." - Diane von Furstenberg
Japan is a home of a rich culture. It is molded by various cultural evolutions, making it a nest of traditional and modern civilization. One of their treasured customs is wearing a kimono or yukata.
Wearing either kimono or yukata is a great way of showing and spreading the awareness of Japanese culture to the world. The Festive Japanese Men Yukata is a simple yet elaborately crafted yukata that can be worn on a daily basis.
Kimono and yukata are two different traditional clothing in Japan. Although they may seem to look alike, there's a slight difference between these two. Kimono is a traditional clothing made of silk and other expensive materials. It is commonly long in sleeves and has a double collar. It is usually worn during the cold season and in formal ceremonies such as weddings.
On the other hand, Yukata is the cheaper and casual version of clothing. It is made of cotton and lightweight materials and worn during the summer season. Today, it is commonly seen in anime and during festivities in Japan.
Both Yukata and Kimono must be worn with its right side fold in first followed by the left side. Wearing it by putting the left side first followed by the right side is only used during burial or funerals.
