Why Explorers Live Longer

Why Explorers Live Longer

If you are the type to want to pack your bags every few months and head on a trek through the jungle, visit to an exotic beach, explore hidden caves or dance your way through a romantic city abroad...then you will probably live longer than your friend who has never left town.

There is actual science proving this.

Here are the top reasons why traveling is so good for you…

(1) You are building your immunity. When you travel, you create antibodies which are the little proteins that protect your immune system from harmful pathogens. Research shows exposure to some dirt and minor illnesses actually keeps your body and gut stronger. You should definitely still wash your hands when travelling, but having some new bacteria in your life isn’t a bad thing. You allow your body to adapt to thousands of new bacteria, making it stronger.

(2) You expand your horizons and mind. As you meet new people, see new places, you become more globally aware and essentially expand your mind. Studies suggest that travel actually allows for your brain to be more creative.

(3) You aren’t as stressed. Stress is a big no-no. Stress leads to all kinds of nasty illnesses like heart disease. A long-running Framingham Heart Study found that men and women who traveled annually were less likely to suffer a heart attack or develop heart disease due to such a decrease in stress and anxiety.

(4) You may end up somewhere healing. So energy vortexes do seem to exist. There are these healing and sacred places as well that are made up of flowing nature whether it be wind, water or electricity. These are the places where the earth’s powers converge to heal, uplift, and rejuvenate. And people have literally felt and witnessed healing.

Did the travel bug get you now?
