This weird incident I had in the shower will leave you questioning your own life purpose (Part 3 of 3)

So here we are, at the final part of my 3-part Thanksgiving story for you.

(In case you missed them, Part 1 is here and Part 2 is here.)

I’ve already told you about the lavish life I was living 3 years ago.

I’ve described the eye-opening bathroom incident that revealed why my life was eating me from the inside out (and why you too may have experienced similar moments in your life.)

Now, here’s what I did as soon as I stepped out of that bathroom…

My showertime sadness had made it very clear to me that one of the biggest driving forces in my life was hatred.

Deep down inside, I hated my house and my cars. I hated my business partners and even my customers. I hated the thought that all this frivolity was going to be my sole legacy.

Where did my hatred come from? Simple. I was desperately projecting all this negativity outwards, in an effort to protect where it was really coming from: myself.

The solution was incredibly straightforward:

If I wanted to stop hating myself, and realign with my highest purpose and nature… I had to flip that hatred around to something purer.

Something like gratitude.

And from that moment onwards, I made a conscious decision to focus on the good in EVERYTHING.

I became more consciously grateful for my friends. My family. The trees surrounding my house. The birds that lived in them.

Even the morning air that greeted me as I opened my balcony would get a big helping of Amish’s Gratitude.

But beyond that, I also became grateful for my former business partners, who were stealing money from my company. And for the lawyers trying to sue me.

Why? Because every time you encounter a hostile person or situation that tries to break you, you’re faced with the opportunity to become stronger.

And even if they do break you, so what? That just means you’ll have the opportunity to rebuild yourself the way you wish you had been all along.

As soon as I committed to this shift, my life changed dramatically.

I finally gathered the courage to break away from my poisonous business ties… because I had regained faith in myself and my ability to create a more fulfilling livelihood.

I sold the house and the cars, and moved into a more humble – but just as comfortable – home… because I stopped worrying about armoring my ego with false securities.

And perhaps most importantly… I abandoned my excessive drinking, smoking and partying habit, and reconnected with my conscious practices like meditation and visualization.

All these changed led me to where I am today: at the helm of the Project:Yourself community, helping thousands of people just like you redefine their notions of reality… and grow into the infinite potential within.

My house is smaller, my bank account is humbler, and my garage is emptier… but I can safely say I’ve never been happier or more fulfilled in my entire life.

And for that, I am grateful.

I hope you got something out of that story. Thanks for being part of my community, and stay tuned for more…
