The Meaning Of OM: One Of The World’s Most Revered Symbols

'In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.'
A typical human trait that is in the veins in all human beings is curiosity about our origin and the origins of our Universe.

How is it possible to have so many different creatures and shapes in the world?
Spiritual traditions worldwide are asking these kinds of questions, and they discovered the profound role of the Divine Word, the origins, and the very first beginning of the Universe.
If at the beginning nothing was here, then the first thing must have been the vibration. From there, everything else was created, and the material world was born.

The quantum physicists have been analyzing the role of vibration. Nikola Tesla said that if you want to find the secret of the Universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration. The very foundations of our Universe, of matter and thought, appear to lie in sound vibration.'

According to yoga experts, there is a firm bond between the speech, which represents the expression of our thoughts, and Prana, which represents the life energy carried on the breath.

While a person speaks, he/she is naming its reality, and at the same time, while using the power of breath, he/she forms and expresses his words.

The sound's power was studied and analyzed very profoundly by the ancient yogis, and some modern authors like Esther Hicks.

Also, Sound healers still use chanting and toning for the profound transformation of the body and mind.
If you ever visited a yoga class, you may have noticed that some of them are chanting the sound OM.

You can meet with this word very frequently, maybe you will see it on someone's T-shirt, or you may hear it in some song, or yoga class.
A lot of people are interested in spirituality, and many people have experienced a positive outcome from OM.

According to ancient people, Om can create a bond between the Divine in vibrational form and us, by making our prayers and mantras effective.

What is the meaning of OM?

Om, as a seed mantra, isn't a word that you can find it in dictionaries with a definition. It is linked to the content, and not to the meaning.
Om represents the Word of God. It is a vibration from which every material thing in the Universe originates, the primary vibe.
Frawley claims that Om is the primary mantra of the Higher Self, also known as Atman.
It presents us the real Nature. Om represents the sound of the creator, preserver, and destroyer of the Universe.

Some people can pronounce and write Om as AUM. The reason for this change is that some people prolong certain sounds that contain Om.
But, every letter from AUM signifies a different aspect of the Divine.
'A' refers to the Brahma, the creative aspect. '
U' sound refers to the Vishnu, the preserver.
'M' sound refers to the Shiva- the destructive aspect of God.

These are the three aspects of the Divine, and without them, nothing would exist.
After only one chant AUM and the journey for the transformation of the cosmos has begin.

How to Harness the Power of OM?

In yoga, the mantra is used as a tool to keep a person's focus and a quiet mind.
You can try to breathe while you are repeating the syllable OM, while you are concentrated on the third eye.
Furthermore, you can repeat Om or a mantra that incorporated Om, 108 times using the help of mala.
Japa Yoga is the practice that keeps the brain focused. Also, it keeps the body, mind, and heart together with the qualities of the mantra. Om is connected to the 6th and 7th chakras, and they are the brow point and the point on the top of our heads.

OM, the power of sound will teach us to treat the words as sacred, creative, and divine.
We create the things that we say and think.
All human beings are the creators of the material world. We are powerful.
The only thing that we have to do is to focus on the words and use them wisely. Only this way, we will transform and bring awareness to the vibrations we spread. Om Shanti.
