It seems that this little pine coned shaped gland located in the center of your brain is a popular organ these days. Spiritual mentors and meditation seekers call it the third eye, and refer to it as an antennae to the non-physical realm. Scientists say that all it does is help with the secretion of melatonin, the hormone for circadian rhythm regulation. In Chinese medicine, the acupuncture point yin tang is at the third eye, located between the forehead, and used to calm the mind. Most people who have had this done can recall how relaxed they feel.
But what artist Shawn Thorton experienced was nothing like anything he had ever felt before. While studying art in school, he underwent severe illness due to brain cancer and had a tumor forming right where his pineal gland sits, but for the time he did not know of it, he recalls often having manic and visionary episodes which revealed the contents of his extraordinary paintings.
If you see these paintings, they are full of intricate details that are reminiscent of alien technology amongst other complex looking patterns…All VERY different from anything he has ever created. He had never even see some of what his paint brush drew. (More paintings like the one on the right can be seen here).
Could it be that the tumor of his brain in was in such close proximity to his pineal gland, and caused a portal like flow of information from another dimension to enter and carry out through his artwork with an increase in the pineal gland’s release of DMT, dimethyltryptamine, (otherwise known as the spirit molecule)?
Famous writer and theorist Graham Hancock says that “It may be that DMT makes us able to perceive what the physicist call “dark matter” – the 95 per cent of the universe’s mass that is known to exist but that at present remains invisible to our senses and instruments.”
Are these paintings a reflection of breaking through what Hancock calls the dark matter?
Ancient Egyptians have been known to value and study the uses of the pineal gland and DMT since during mummification, they would throw away the rest of the brain, yet save the pineal gland in a jar to be buried with the dead. Many of their ancient art also reflects this breakthrough of dark matter and patterns of the third eye’s consciousness.
From a recent interview, Shawn states: “I suffered from a slow growing cancer in my pineal gland while I attended art school and during subsequent years while my paintings developed with an underlined mythology that alluded directly to the pineal years before I even know of its existence. I think I’d work myself into a frenzy for a while and yes, when I would fall lie down in bed I’d have something like a manic episode that was very lucid and visionary. That still applies to this day, but I try to control it better so I don’t get sick again. I’ve had a lot of truly mystical and otherworldly experiences as a result of my history and battle with brain cancer and I’m really drawn to things that resonate with a certain powerful energy, and I’m always honing in on that more and more, whether consciously or subconsciously.”
French philosopher René Descartes emphasized the pineal gland in his writings, calling it the seat of the soul and “The part of the body in which the soul directly exercises its functions.” He contended that this was where the soul and body interacted, and where we receive our messages from the universe.
If Descartes saw these paintings, he might agree that they are indeed messages from a higher source. So…what do YOU think?
