In Ayurveda the tissue formation (Dhaatu parinaama) is in a sequence. There the quality of each dhaatu depends on the quality of food we consume and the quality of the preceeding dhaatu.* The food will undergo digestion (paaka) and the nutrients and wastes are separated. The factor responsible for digestion is agni or digestive fire.* If this digestive fire is improper the digestion will also be imperfect. Imperfect digestion eventually results in impaired tissue formation. It will affect the total sequence of tissue formation.*Herbs such as Turmeric (Curcuma longa), Gooseberry (Emblica officinalis), Cumin seeds (Syzygium cumini), Fenugreek (Trigonella foenum graecum) are common food ingredients that are used to maintain a healthy metabolism.
