Kerala Ayurveda’s Guduchi capsule contains Tinospora cordifolia, which is known as ”divine nectar” in Ayurveda. It’s a nutritive tonic that’s categorized as a rejuvenating (Rasayana ) herb in the Ayurvedic texts for its ability to strengthen your body.It has been said that when Lord Rama won the battle against Lanka king, Ravana, with the help of monkeys, Lord Indra then caused rain of nectar. The monkeys, who were killed by the demons, were rendered alive by this nectar. The part of the earth which came in contact with the falling nectar from the monkey’s bodies resulted in the origin of Amrta or Guduchi.
The herb is bitter, astringent and pungent in taste (Katu, Kashaya, Tikta), hot in potency (Ushna veerya), light and unctuous in quality (Laghu, snigdha) with a sweet taste as post-digestive effect (Madhur vipaka).*
