The Project:Yourself community is always charged to explore the scientific aspect of the wisdom of the past. Along with the mind-blowing Sri Yantra and its transformative power, there are specific sciences we work with to bring about self-realization. Have a look at the science of it all.
Raja yoga (a.k.a. royal union) is a science that connects the mind and body with the soul. It allows us to go inward; it allows us to see outside the box of the defined Universe. This branch of yoga encompasses all the techniques required to achieve control over the mind and emotions. It emphasizes the benefits of meditation for self-realization and the evolution of consciousness.
The Project:Yourself community spends a lot of time with our focus on this awesome union. We are all about practicing the science of aligning the mind and body with the soul!
Another prodigious technique we use to practice self-liberation is pratyahara. Pratyahara is the fifth limb of Patanjali’s eight steps toward self-realization. This practice guides us to disconnect from our senses in order to fully reconnect to the inner and outer truth of the Universe. Pratyahara is the practice of non-attachment (vairagya) to sensory distractions. This method allows us to return, again and again, to the path of self-realization and the fulfillment of inner peace.
The Project:Yourself tribe works with science infused Vedic meditation to stimulate the pineal gland (for third eye activation) and to adjust brainwave frequencies in order to enter transcendental states of mind. We also encourage the practice of mindfulness, which comes to us from the Buddha’s teachings.
You may have already seen a ton of studies on how meditation can help you relax, but every day, science is finding new, deeper benefits to this ancient wisdom and how it contributes to living in harmony with oneself and the world.
Being mindful is our ability to be in touch with “what is” without judgement. Mindfulness meditation practice is centered around waking up to the present moment. Compassion for ourselves and others develops over time through regular practice. Compassion is primordial wisdom that opens the heart to its intelligence. Without compassion, meditation cannot be transferred into action.
And when practiced in a specific way, meditation also strengthens your DNA, protecting you against illnesses and unwanted habits. Proper and regular meditation can also be more effective than drugs in overcoming depression, enhancing your brain function, and dramatically boosting your memory and learning.
It is no wonder some of the world’s biggest companies, like Apple and Nike, are starting to make meditation a part of their corporate culture.
“Meditation is one of the main tools we have to develop and practice mindfulness. It is a way to look at ourselves scientifically, so that we can see our psychological situation precisely.” — Chögyam Trungpa
The Project:Yourself course delves deep into techniques centered around accomplishing the awesome act of dreaming while awake! You’ll learn clinically sound ways to program your subconscious so you can take advantage of this scientifically validated phenomenon.
Lucid dreaming is more than having an extremely vivid dream. It incorporates an entire new perspective on time travel and entering into different dimensions through already existing portals. It may sound impossible, but there’s some radical scientific research to back it up. When a person has a lucid dream, the dreamer is present and aware of the act of dreaming and can take control of the activities that take place in dreamtime. This could be a huge step in establishing a connection to the higher Self; the Creator of the Universe that resides within each one of us. Learning this technique, and if practiced with proper guidance, could be an enormous breakthrough into self-realization.
According to Nada yoga, the science of sound, all vibrations connect human life, nature, and the Universe. Nada yoga meditates on becoming one with the vibration of the Universe. The union with sound teaches us that universal vibration is without beginning or end—reaching infinitely from before the Big Bang and into the never-ending future.
Scientists now tell us that the entire Universe and everything in it is vibrating.
Vibrations are sound. Sound is everywhere and connects everything in the Universe. A key to understanding this unity can be found in a branch of String Theory called M-Theory and an aspect of natural law known as the “Golden Spiral.”
“[E]ach person has his note . . . that particular note is expressive of life’s evolution, expressive of his soul, of the condition of his feelings and of his thoughts.” – Hazrat Inayat Khan
Planets vibrate at their own frequencies as they move through space. The sun vibrates; the moon vibrates; the stars all vibrate at millions of different frequencies. Gravitational waves flowing from black holes—expanding and contracting space, are vibrations. Each one of us is vibrating in rhythm with our breath, the beating of our heart, the energy of each cell, the sound waves transmitted from our nervous system. We reverberate from the subatomic to the cellular level.
There is a scientific body of evidence that shows us that the Universe is vibrating as one big harmonious system. As humans, we are part of this universal symphony; we are comprised of cosmic strings creating melodious compositions.
“We are nothing but cosmic music played out on vibrating strings and membranes. Obeying the laws of physics, which is nothing but the laws of harmony . . .” – Michio Kaku
Let’s tune into the frequency of love.
Let’s radiate good vibes for ourselves and for the planet.
“If you want to find the secrets of the Universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration.” —Nikola Tesla
As a Projector, you will tap into higher frequencies, harmony, and synchronicity with ancient breathing methods; specifically through spiral breathing, a technique used in the practice of pranayama to awaken the kundalini. Spiral breathing is a profound way to activate intrinsic energy (prana or chi), calm the mind, clear the chakras, and relax the body. This advanced breathing exercise will serve you well as it ignites the dormant powers coiled within you.
Another technique we dive into is sexual transmutation. This technique works with “sex energy” to transform it into highly creative energy. You may be familiar with this type of transmutation if you read Napoleon Hill’s book, Think and Grow Rich, originally published in the 30s; but the theory extends back even further to Taoist and other Eastern traditions.
Believe it or not, sexual transmutation takes place on the cellular level and promotes channeling the intense energy of the mulabandha / sacral / second chakra / into making love to your true purpose in life instead of having a bunch of sex and / or masterbating all the time. Makes sense.
But not to worry, in the Project:Yourself course, you’ll learn how to harness your sexual energy without having to give up sex! The object of sexual transmutation is to take all of the extraordinary vibrating energy / shakti within you and transmute it into reality bending powers to use as you create all the good you want in love and life.
This practice encourages you to go within and draw resources from your purest, most primal source of energy; and use the energy to fuel the creative expression of your craft, your art, your studies, your business, your success.
This technique is used as a means to gain self-liberation, and through the practice of vairagya, reducing our attachment to outward activity, we become completely unattached from the material world (maya). This is a powerful way to recognize your true Self and figure out your true purpose as a human being / earthling.
“Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.” –Albert Einstein
The practice of Kriya reinforces and revitalizes subtle currents of life energy in the spine and brain.
The practice of chakra healing comes to us from Kriya yoga and has everything to do with getting stuck prana unstuck. It is about moving blockages from specific energy centers in the body. The seven main chakras are aligned along the spinal column. Each chakras has an intelligence of its own and is represented by a specific color.
Medical science has proven that our chakras become imbalanced by toxins and other impurities, which include negative thoughts, chemical enhancements in our food, and other poor environmental factors.
This method of healing is starting to gain acceptance in the scientific community as a valid phenomenon; as a way to systematically improve different areas of your life. Scientists like Dr. Valerie V. Hunt of the University of California have found radiation emanating from the body areas traditionally associated with the chakras, while numerous studies show the chakras corresponding with vital nerve bundles connected to the brain.
Cleanse the chakras through several unique practices and techniques covered in the Project:Yourself program.
The sciences, Jyotish (Vedic astrology) and Vaastu (Vedic architecture), go hand in hand to create perfect harmony, peace, and abundance.
Sacred geometry is an ancient science understood as a worldview of universal pattern recognition; a complex system of symbols and structures involving space, time, and form. If you are interested in fractals found in the cosmos and in the human body then this blueprint of creation may become your newest obsession.
According to quantum physics, that what applies to the solar system applies to the the atom. Yep, the same laws apply to both. In mathematical terms, human beings are a “fractal” of the Universe. Each individual cell we house is similar to the geometric pattern of our entire body, and the atom creates the same shape for each cell, and so on, and so forth into the Universe at large. Talk about being connected to the sun, the moon, and the stars.
Many studies have been conducted around these vedic astrological principles. Check out our technology page for further insight into the power of the cosmos and its relationship to sacred geometry, vaastu (the science of architecture), nature, and the human body.
There is so much to it!
Yoga’s sister science, Ayurveda, is the science of life. It has been around for over 5,000 years, but only now is Western medicine beginning to recognize Ayurveda as a holistic, medical science built on solid theoretical and experiential foundations—which provide a deep-seated understanding of the physical and biological laws that govern human physiology. Modern science is finally catching up with the profound wisdom of early Indian teachings!
Food programming is a technique that uses energy and power from the mind to better assimilate and process food and liquids in the body. In some cultures, people prepare their food with supercharged goodness during the cooking and before consuming it. Some people chant or pray over the food—which to enlivens it with positive vibrations and transforms the microstructure to contain healing properties.
Dr. Masaru Emoto did several experiments observing the crystals found in water and found that if he played lovely music in the presence of tap water, it would then make beautiful frozen crystal formations. He also found that words such as “Thank you,” and “I love you,” caused the tap water to form wonderful crystals. Words such as “You make me sick,” or “I hate you,” caused distorted crystals or no crystals at all.
He concluded that thoughts and feelings affect physical reality.
